Supporting Women Through Everyday Actions

I’ve spent years talking to women across all stages of their careers. One thing has become clear: supporting women isn’t about grand gestures or headline-making programs.

Real impact comes from small, practical actions — policies, mentoring, and networks that acknowledge the everyday realities women face.

At Hub, 60% of our team are women. That’s encouraging, but it’s also a reminder that support needs to stay top of mind. And our focus isn’t just internal. It extends to the incredible women leading, growing, and operating within the businesses in our workspaces. We want to provide practical, achievable support from thoughtful policies to mentorship, or even just meaningful conversation that creates tangible impact.

Even with progress, women remain underrepresented in leadership. Many carry disproportionate responsibilities at home and face barriers that slow their advancement.

Consistent, Considered Action

Small, consistent actions make a difference. At Hub, this looks like menstrual and menopause leave, flexible work arrangements, and mentorship opportunities through programs like our Women’s Business Connection.

We also partner with female-led organisations such as Femme Organic and Share the Dignity to extend support beyond our walls. These actions may seem small, but they build confidence, break down barriers, shape culture, and create opportunities that might not have existed otherwise.

Over time, these everyday practices add up to meaningful, lasting impact.

Supporting Women Isn’t About Optics

Supporting women isn’t a checkbox or PR exercise. It’s about outcomes, culture, and giving people the chance to thrive.

We’ve come a long way, but there’s always more to do. In our experience, it’s the everyday, practical steps that drive the change we want to see.
