Meet Hub's Flexi Impact Members in Adelaide and Brisbane

Impact

Hub Australia

7th January 2021

After a difficult selection process, Hub Australia is welcoming our 2021 Flexi Impact Program members, joining our growing community in Adelaide and Brisbane as they work to grow their impact.

We talked to our new members to learn more about what their impact-driven businesses and organisations are working towards in 2021.

Hub Adelaide

YogaKids Training Academy

YogaKids recognise the stressors kids and teens face, working to bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness into their lives, creating age appropriate classes by training yoga and meditation teachers throughout Australia.

What are your goals for 2021?

Through 2020, we adapted our courses to offer them online. After months of filming and negotiation with peak yoga training accreditation bodies, we are now launching a full online version of our training to be available internationally. Hub’s Flexi Impact membership will allow us to bring an additional team member into hub as we grow our impact.

Envirogrid Developments

Envirogrid enables industries to embrace clean energy and participate in the emerging hydrogen economy, whilst saving on high costs of energy. They consult with industrial company leaders to determine if a “green microgrid” solution is feasible and what technologies can be implemented.

What are your goals for 2021?

This year we’re commencing construction of stage 1 of an innovative solar thermal microgrid, using hybrid CPVT panels, at the Flagstaff Park Industrial Precinct at White Sands. We are also forming infrastructure to support a hydrogen refuelling station network to help reduce the impact of fossil fuels, and will continue looking for opportunities to establish more green microgrids and decarbonisation initiatives for companies.

Hub will help us network with vibrant, forward-thinking individuals and support us to make a positive impact on the environment through their thriving business community.

Hub Anzac Square, Brisbane

Kalinya

Kalinya communications was established to amplify Indigenous voices and share positive stories, with a focus of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs to grow purpose based businesses. Kalinya is currently working with over 100 businesses across Australia.

What are your goals for 2021?

I relocated to Brisbane recently to start the Kalinya Retreats, a place for Aboriginal entrepreneurs and friends to talk business under the stars, launching in 2021.

An immersive experience in the Queensland hinterlands, the retreats will explore regenerative design, the circular economy, and other business models aligned with First Nations values. Living in a new city, Hub will help me meet like-minded thinkers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.

Eveity

Eveity’s helps government, private sector, and startups overcome policy and regulatory challenges, with a focus on natural capital, resilience planning, and circular economy in Australia and the Pacific.

What are your goals for 2021?

We will finalise our business plan, translate our academic research, build our team, and scale our impact business. Hub Australia’s Flexi Impact membership will provide us with the space, support, and networks we need to refine our ideas, our content, and our pitch, giving us the best chance to realise our impact mission.

Swoop Aero

Swoop Aero was founded to transform the way the world moves essential supplies by making access to the air seamless. Swoop Aero integrates air transport using drones into the first and last mile of the health supply chain to make healthcare available everywhere.

What are your goals for 2021?

In 2021 we will continue to grow our operations overseas in Malawi, Mozambique and DR Congo as well as bring the impact back home by kicking off operations here in Australia to deliver medical supplies safely, reliably and contact-free to where they are needed.

We are headquartered in Melbourne, where we have a buzzing office, but being based in Brisbane I am looking forward to being part of Hub here and networking with other members to grow, connect, and work in a productive environment.
